Both of the two trims available for this electric car will deliver reliable power. The 2024 BMW i5 eDrive40 utilizes a lithium-ion battery and a single all-electric motor to deliver 335 horsepower1 and 296 lb.-ft. of torque2. Meanwhile, the BMW i5 xDrive40 has a dual-electric motor system to amp up the output to 389 horsepower1 and 435 lb.-ft. of torque2. Both models utilize an automatic single-speed transmission. The BMW eDrive40 has a total range of 270 to 295 miles3, and the xDrive40 can travel 248 to 266 miles3. The BMW i5 can be charged with Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Charging systems. Level 1 regeneration yields about 4 miles of range per hour4 of charging. Level 2 restoration offers 30 miles per 1 hour of charging5, and it can take your car from 0 to 100 percent battery life in under 10 hours. DC Fast Charging systems can give you as much as 90 miles of range in 10 minutes6, getting you back on Florida Street to your next destination very quickly.
